NOBUHLE PATIENCE KHANYILE or as she is known to her colleagues and fans, PSALMIST QUEEN PATIENCE, was born and raised in South Africa. Her music career kicked off from a very young age, which saw her exhibiting her musical as well as dance and theatrical talents, from South Africa and eventually culminated in overseas tours across the UK. 2004 saw her rededicate her talents and abilities to work and sing for God. In 2006 she became a Worship Leader and the music director for one of the biggest Christian ministries in the UK. Since then, QUEEN has ministered through songs of praise and worship in different churches.
In addition to being an accomplished vocalist and musician in her own right, she has mentored a number of choristers in several churches in the UK. In 2010 she was featured by Minister Sonnie Badu at his London Gospel Concert (Colours of Africa), while her popular single titled MAKABONGWE (Featuring Pat) was released to much acclaim. Colours of Africa became a big success on YouTube, further enhancing her Gospel music career and exposing her gift to the wider world. In 2012, QUEEN PATIENCE created a vibrant group called "The UK South African Singers’’. This eclectic group is made up of musicians from various nations that include Zimbabwe, Ghana, Caribbean nations, Sierra Leone and South Africa. This divine amalgamation preceded a period of unprecedented collective growth as well as QUEEN’s career, which is a testament to God’s involvement and divine provision. CHARITY WORK QUEEN’s career is laden with notable moments, one of which being a performance for the former President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo's international charity organisation launched in London, known as Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation. Another moment would be her mesmeric performance at the 2014 Black History, African Caribbean Forum Kent- an event focused on the recognition and celebration of culture, businesses as well as showcasing involvement and achievements of African/Caribbean communities. In 2015, QUEEN gave a performance at the Rutendo Trust fundraising for renovation of Karanda Hospital in Zimbabwe. The following year saw Psalmist Queen Patience launch her QUEEN PATIENCE young Orphans Foundation in South Africa. NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS Despite her career being focused on impact more than acclaim, QUEEN has seen several milestones and accolades come her way.
In 2013, she received a Music Achievement Award certificate and a trophy as best Lead Singer in her ministry. She is also the founder of a Gospel Music organisation show called AFRICA UNITE WORLD WIDE which features gospel musicians from all over Africa coming together to praise and worship the Lord, with the objective of transmitting a message of world peace and unity. Concurrently, Queen founded Exclusive Worship, a quarterly praise and worship convention. Propelled by her prominence and success of her initiatives, Psalmist Queen Patience released her solo album MAKABONGWE & EVERYTHING in 2016. The album was the recipient of endorsement by prominent UK pastors such as Pastor PK Boardi, Minister Gwendolyn Kakhulu Chris, & South African Prophet Neyi Zulu, Dr Tumi and Pastor Israel Mosehla. In 2017 she was ordained a Psalmist at Assemblies of God (Catford) by a Senior Pastor Ngutha. In 2015 she was a double Award winner for The Best Event Of The Year 2015 (AFRICA UNITE WORLDWIDE) and "Best Female Gospel Artist Of The Year 2015 in the UK. In 2016 she won an Award "Best Female Gospel Artist of The Year 2016 in the UK. In 2017 she was nominated for a recognition Award by PRAISETEK PGM-AWARDS UK. In 2017 she won double Awards for Best Contemporary Praise and the most voted artist of the year 2017. In 2018 Queen was honoured by Woman Worship Gospel Awards as well as the prestigious Praisetek PGM Legendary Awards. In 2019 she won an Award for the First Most Effective South African Woman Abroad (MBHOKODO) South African Woman Award UK 2020. Queen received an International Lifetime Achievement Award from Africa Unite Gospel Awards. PSALMIST Queen Patience is currently a founder and a TV Presenter at the UK-based platform SATV. The platform seeks to empower and grant exposure to South African and African gospel mavericks in particular.
Since the inception of the initiative during Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, a number of the programs held there have been graced by sublimely talented and accomplished artists, preachers and other gospel-centric individuals. To Queen, the propagation of the gospel through music is a lifelong assignment that transcends individual achievements. As the adage goes, success is not success unless it can be shared and extended to influence positive change.
