Godson Epelle (Born 24 July 1994), better known by his stage name 1da Banton releases a new song titled “Foreigner”. He is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer. His music is a unique blend of reggae, dancehall, afrobeat and traditional sounds from Rivers his home state. 1da Banton relocated to Lagos in 2014 after he was signed by Squareball Entertainment owned by Video Director Adasa Cookey. He has since released several records and an EP (The Banton EP). He caught the attention of many when his song “Way Up” was used as the eviction theme song at the 2018 Big Brother Naija reality show. He went on to release “Jowo” where he introduced a new smooth sound that left his audience captivated. African Woman released in late 2018 introduced a new African vibe which captivated the Nigerian music industry and influenced many other artists. Early 2019 saw the release of yet another smooth vibe “Farabale”. He is set to release a new body of work which features his best works yet. He has collaborated with industry heavy weights like Harrysong, Timaya, Stonebwoy, Ice Prince, Korede Bello, Seyi Shay and international dancehall superstar Kranium. 1da Banton’s growth has been steady and he is poised to take his place among the greats of African Music in the nearest future. “Foreigner” is a reggae and dancehall music expressing a new found love, never to let go and the desire to be loved so much in return.
